Cost Estimate/Consultation Process

Not unlike a home remodel project, there are many variables that determine the cost of designing a fireworks show. This is why it is essential to have an initial consultation to discuss your specific circumstances. It’s a painless process and mostly just a discussion of how we’re going to make your show awesome.

Here are just a few things that need to be discussed. Each of these can affect the overall show cost as well as the complexities for the design process.

• What style of show you prefer (e.g. dramatic, upbeat, highly dynamic, etc.):
  • Do you have any example shows you really like? If not, we can discuss your event, audience demographics, and other factors that may influence the style you should choose.
  • Style has a variable impact on cost.
• Desired duration of show:
  • What is the minimum and maximum show duration you’d like to have?
  • Duration has a high impact on cost.
• Pace of show (cues per minute – CPM):
  • Do you want fast-paced action, or slower? A mix of both is typical and is directly influenced by the music soundtrack.
  • CPM has a high impact on cost.
• Show soundtrack:
  • Do you need assistance choosing and editing a soundtrack?
  • Show soundtrack has a high impact on cost.
• Classification of fireworks used (1.4g, 1.4g Pro, 1.3g, Indoor Prox, etc.):
  • What classification of fireworks will be used in the show? Consumer, Professional Use Only, Display fireworks, or a mixture?
  • I cannot procure fireworks for clients.
  • All of my pyromusical displays rely heavily on “1.4g Pro” fireworks which require a PGI course certificate (or a type 54 federal explosives user permit/license) to purchase. The course is not difficult to obtain but requires finding and taking a course on using these products before wholesalers will sell them to you.
  • Classification has a variable impact on cost.

  • Many times the duration and pace will influence this and vise-versa.

  • Sometimes it’s best to start with your budget. I can assist you with breaking your entire show budget down into the necessary components, or we can just work with your available design budget.
